So i’m having a sunday afternoon bimble out to Tring area and back, a good route for a quick blast.
About 100 ish miles Ace to Ace.
Will be planning to leave around 3.30pm from the Ace if anyone wants to come, or i can meet on the A4 at chiswick roundabout.
NOT 125 friendly, pace is brisk but not silly, I know the route so RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE!!
Back to the ace after for a chin wag and a tea.
If it rains hard i will cancel, but it should be a few clouds that clear up from 4 ish.
I won’t be joining the ride but may I be so bold as to ask which roads are good to ride around there?
Hmm… I might have to come to this, Im sure my rattle will hold out for another few 100miles!
Is this a definate? or only if you get so many riders?
Hey i will drop the route on here for you, its not amazing but its great for a quick blast. That area has some good roads. The 414 and 4146 i think are 2 of them.
Up A41 to Tring to Marsworth then B489 to B488 to A4146 Stay on A4146 The B4540 is ok as a loop but don’t miss that part of the A4146 as it fast and flowing. Then to Hemel the A414 to the A5183 towards Radlett Turn left onto Shenley road/Radlett lane (great 6 bends) then left again onto B5378 Then at the roundabout Right onto B556 and come out at South Mims to head back to the ace.
Sometimes i do it in reverse sometimes this way. As i say its not amazing but for a local blast out of london its pretty dame good.

Im gonna go get some DOT4 fluid and sort my spongey brakes…
If all goes well and its not pissing it down im up for it!

Should be able to get to Ace by 3.30 but may be 15ish mins late…
Gonna have to give it a skip - not sobered down enough to go for a ride

the roads were perfect until my susspension decided it was too bumpy and rattle my exhaust to smitherines!
RIX saved theday with a perfect bodge, makingit last all the way backto the ace and then home to Angel…
But now I have a Banging headache!
haha good fun interesting ride, electrical tape and string, brings back some recent memories but without the people standing round looking!
