Sun 9 Nov Remembrance Day Fort Nelson Navy Lark

Not yet, although I’m off to page 8 on Monday and page 31 on Tuesday to possible part with a modest amount of hard earned to remedy the situation.

Here are some pictures I took of the Royal Armouries’ working 18pdr when I came across it earlier this year and got to talk with the crew.

What would I look like on a horse?

Probably a bit like this. This is my maternal grandfather - who did two stints at the Somme - not in the trenches though - Royal Horse Artillery

Looks like I might have spoken too soon. Pages 8 and 31 both proved to fall well below expectations and I remain off two wheels.

The search continues for a half decent half faired GSF 1250 or CBF 1000.

Sorry to hear that Art. We only found a new bike cos we weren’t looking for one. Best of luck in the search.

Weather still looking good for tomorrow. Really looking forward to it. Looking at Metcheck’s latest forecast, I might just have to be home before 6 though!

Enjoy, new tyres fitted so gonna do a short stint tomorrow. See her next week.

BTW Is Ben grandpapa on a three legged horse or is it’s fronts perfectly aligned?

Ride safe

See you at the fort then

Why do a short stint when you can do a longer Jetstream stint with care?

and they’re off

Ride safe and enjoy the day

Boom bang a bang

Arrgghhhhh! I’ve only just risen from duvet land. I have a sneaky suspicion that I’m not going to make this one :crying:

It will have to be a solo mission for me today instead, I reckon.

You could head them off at the pass Hindhead Tunnel ETA 09:35 am

sorry guys well overslept and have a million and one things to do before my holiday, have fun ,think i will put the bike away until next year now…:pinch:

Good to see everyone today at the fort and have a ride with you to the lunch stop… Hope you all got home safe and avoided the rain, only a couple of light showers on the way back for me but some serious stuff coming down now…

Nice pictures Geoff - Glad you had a good time.

Chaperoned some learners down to Rye theh had a twisties full with one of the instructors when we dumped them in Maidstone. Managed to get rid of the sticker glue and numbers but after 100 miles the yellow line is still on the rear - Damn it, damn it to Hell (Charlton Heston in an Ape film).

Thanks Julie and Chris for leading another excellent rideout. The venue for Remembrance Day was spot on, and the lunch stop and ride to Goring was very enjoyable. We had just enough heavy rain after leaving the Departure Lounge to wash the muck off my visor!

Almost forgot. After I peeled off towards south London at Goring, as seems traditional when when I get split from the rest of the ride on Remembrance Sunday, I got held whilst a church parade marched by in Pangbourne.
