Sun 26 Jan - Post Burns Night Burn-up

As it says, Sunday 26 January Rideout to celebrate the Scottish hangover and the killing of lots of little haggises to satisfy the celtic cravings.

Depart the Ace 10.00am with a FULL TANK (we have to shout to some people) and empty bladders. No nobbers (unless Complete) No spanners, gurls welcome.

No fords unless requested in advance, they don’t grow on trees you know:)

This one’s a peach by any standards. Mrs J may make an appearance if she is well enough - the manflu is dragging on interminably. I’m getting fed up of buying my own lunch:pinch: So - if not - any replacement for Mrs J is welcome, under 15st (or 15 yrs) preferred. No wrigglers.

This rideout will include roads, a coffee stop, some mud & gravel as usual, more roads, lunch, a challenge as yet unfaced by the mighty LB crew, home before dark, can’t promise clean bikes.

Anyone up for it?

general direction ???

maybe :smooooth:

I’ve got a pass that day so may pop over to the Ace

Unless the general direction is South and I can meet you en route somewhere.

All of the above are statements that are likely to change if the weather turns bad

No go for me again me thinks :frowning: got some odds to be weighing up on the possibility of redundancy

Only if it’s pi55ing down.

Well despite the weather Im heading west until the sun shines, then the iconic LB challenges begin. Provisionally titled, Wobble or win and spot the neep, these games will take LBs finest to new limits of skill and surrealism.

Well Hels Breakfast and the Jets Ride combined to make a great day out in the Water World of the West.

Remind me to get a boat next time or an off road bike:D

Back about 5pm after an excellent day, with some interesting roads, mud, gravel, floods, rain, high winds on the way home and even a spot of maverick sun about 2.50pm. Great food, excellent company, good laugh and thanks for the Turnip. The fact it was wrapped in L’Occitane tissue paper made it all the more special

Think we should rename this…‘The Jetstreams Burns and goes to Hels Ride out’ Out of every thing thrown our way today, the high wind on the ride home was the least fun  A brilliant day though…top marks go to Lidls water proof jacket for copping with the rain best of all ! Cheers to all on the ride, look forward to the pic’s.

ps: Good to see Janey at the Ace for breakfast.

A few pictures of the H café and the coffee stop off:

Well what a day.
Nice to see Janey, Mark and Ang at the Ace.

We combined forces with Hels and Martin for a foray to Marlow on the back lanes.
We encountered mud, leaf mould and rain aplenty before stopping for coffee and drying facilities.

We even had time for an indoor version of “Spot the Neep”

Art won the mystery prize,

Martin was runner up with the haggis.

Hels and Timmy where joint winners but Timmy`s Antipodean gallantry saw Hels scoop the neep.

On then to the H Cafe for lunch and some more drying therapy.

Then the sun came out and the world was briefly a better place.

After shepherding Hels and Martin through the floods to the M40 we returned through the same floods in search of the ford at Drayton St Leonard.

Unable to see the exit point we proceeded to High Wycombe.

Where the 20cm entry and exit drops proved contentious.

Before falling back on an old favourite between Fulmar and Hogtrumpet corner.:stuck_out_tongue:
Despite being turned back by the fire brigade, we did a detour for a look.:Whistling:

Nearly forgot, Art and Mark were concerned over Julies wellbeing so I said Id take a picture.

Julie lives.:stuck_out_tongue:

We had a bit of everything

Mostly wind and rain but we did find a little ray of sunshine, and a puddle, in the NW corner of the H Cafe car park. Hot coffees, steamy teas, all day breakfasts, fun & games, gravel, mud, flooded roads and three fords. The first a proper job non event, the second was not much better so we fell back on Fulmer but got turned away by the Fire Brigade :w00t:

Julie lives … LOL

Even if that picture does look like he’s just dug me up from under the patio!:w00t:

Thanks for the concern folks, I’ll be back out as soon as poss

We was a little anxious what with Mr J and Fred West both being in the building game :w00t:

It was a great day - on the bike at half eight, back home at 5pm - although the kit is still drying and I have not washed the bike so it looks like a tractor.
Glad to hear Julie is okay
Great photos Chris also
Till next time!

Brilliant photo’s from Hels and Chris. Think Timmy’s tee-shirt says it all

Cheers.

Get well soon Julie x
