Sun 25th October

The Three Amigos charity ride for the London Air Ambulance – Sunday 25 October 2009 The aim of this ride is twofold – to get as many LB members out on a social ride out as we can and to raise as much money as possible for the LAA. The plan is to set off in manageable groups from various points, meet up together for coffee and ride as a full group to a lunch stop. The starting points are the Ace, Thurrock Services (petrol station) and (for 125s only) Box Hill. To make this work at all we have to have some instructions: If you intend coming on this ride please put your name up here and state where you will be setting off from so we know how many will turn up at each place. We can’t cope with loads of people turning up at the last minute that we weren’t expecting. If your name is already on the thread just edit your post to include your setting-off point. If you are on a 125 there is only one starting point - Box Hill. Other riders have different starts but you will not be able to join them as they will be using roads you can’t go on, and will be riding much further and faster. Maybe pair up with another 125-er if you don’t know where Box Hill is. The 125 part will be led by Stevie Ramone. Please don’t turn up at the other meeting points – you will be left behind. At the coffee stop we will have a collection for the London Air Ambulance so bring cash with you for this (not just a few odd coppers either!). Rioting Rob has very kindly agreed to act as Chief Whip for the charity collection. We will then all ride together to the seaside and a spot of lunch. (There may be a small charge for parking at the lunch stop - we are hoping that we will have a very large group of bikes so may have to use public car parks) The longer rides for big bikes will set off from the Ace and Thurrock Services, led by the 3 Amigos (Busa 55, Trackday Junkie and Jetstream). If you are on a big fast bike please don’t tag on to the Box Hill ride – Stevie will be busy with all the 125s as it is, and their ride is of necessity shorter and will be slower. Set off times at the Ace and Thurrock are 9.00 am. Meeting time for the 125s is 9.30 at Box Hill.Everyone needs to know the cornerman system. Read Flatout’s post in the rideout section and if you don’t understand it ask before you set off. Make sure you know who your tailgunner is. Get fuel before your set off point. The ride is at your own risk and LB and the people on the ride can not be held responsible if anything happens to you or your bike. Everyone needs to be capable of getting themselves back from the South coast late afternoon - bring map or satnav. Remember that the clocks go back on Saturday night so it will start getting dark from 5 ish – 125s especially may not be back by then. It could be very cold on the way back so be prepared. Hope as many LBers as possible can sign up for this ride, London Air Ambulance needs our support. Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Sunday 25 October :):)Feel free to PM us with a query if that does not make sense:hehe:
