The Christmas Markets are a sight to behold. They evoke memories of a traditional old fashioned Christmas – Glühwein, roasted chestnuts and stalls selling wooden toys and Christmas trees straight from the forest – fairy lights and, if you’re lucky, maybe some snow.

FASTNACHT – 5th to 9th March 2011 – 125 € PER PERSON
Fastnacht is carnival time in the Acher Valley. It is a time to celebrate the departure of a long cold winter and the arrival of spring and new life. Our neighbouring village of Kappelrodeck is famous for its Fastnacht celebrations – there will be colourful parades and events each day and, of course, stalls selling sausages and beer! The celebrations are a lot of fun for young and old alike.

Easter time in the Black Forest is ideal for a refreshing spring break. The leaves and blossom will be ’springing’ into life and the wildlife will be coming out of hibernation after a cold winter. The view from our balconies is especially lovely in the spring – the pastures and forests are a vivid green and dotted with blossom and the first blooms of the season.
