Stupid Question - Can Sports Bikes Powerslide????

Daft I know but my real question is…

given the narrow, low bars and fairing is it possible to powerslide ( ie hang the rear wheel out on cornering or when braking ) a la Speedway bike or flat tracker???

I asked this question in another thread that got buried and it occured to me that I have seen a million fantastic stoppies and wheelies - but not that,

ps I’m not saying it’s a good thing to do - just wondering if it’s possible at all???

Was gonna say, you never watched Moto GP / WSB / BSB etc… etc…

Yep… and it shows - I must go racing more ( apart from the IOM TT )…

I dunno about in Europe (since my sis says it rains all the time) but dry humidity makes high-siding a real bitch here.

Be careful when slipping.

Ride a Hayabusa (not mine) great fun

I hope you don’t take that pile to a road course… Leave her on the drag strip.

Thats the fun bit. Passing them little sports bikes on a Tourer Usually two up

Honestly I am amazed that busas don’t come with a trailer hitch.

I would fit one but the rear subframes are suspect

yup, you can -

Beware of sliding with sticky tyres - the stickier they are, the greater the risk of high-siding.

my 350lc slides about a fair bit , probably more of a bad tyre slide than a power slide , my z will wheelie before it slides

yep!!

It’s possible…but it’s DEFINITELY not for the faint of heart or those who are too ham fisted with the throttle…I’ve never done it on purpose…and the couple of times I’ve had the rear step out accidently, I’ve had to clean my leather pants afterwards.
