OK so I didn’t take enough photos when I stripped down my '95 ZX9. Can anyone tell me where this pipe (marked in green) goes under the carbs? is it just a breather pipe and goes no-where?

I think it’s just a breather pipe.
Take the pragmatic route. Put the thing together and try to start it.
If it starts and runs well, it’s just a breather.
Oh!
If it doesn’t start/run well, it’s possibly not “just a breather” and you are in deep doo-doo.
Unless you can find out where it should go.

Just a suggestion…is there a fitting on the bottom of the air box it could connect to ?
no. I’ve accounted for all of those (aside from the 2 drain holes). My only thought was the breather holes in the engine block under the carb rubbers but I don’t have the old engine anymore to refer to if it had a nipple on a cylinder like the new one does.
I left what I think were the breather tubes* off my ZX7R carbs after refitting them - I only realised after I started it up and it made some weird popping noises on tickover.
*Must have been breather hoses as they weren’t pissing out fuel or coolant (the ZR has coolant hoses rootyed around the carbs to prevent icing) but just seemed to be sucking in/expelling air hence the popping noises,
Are you on the ZX9R forum? Someone might have their tank up at the moment and could take a look for you.
nah I’m not. didn’t really want to be joining up just to beg for advice, seems a bit douchey.
p.s. I don’t have a Kawasaki anymore - otherwise I would take a look as I think the layout on the 7 is similar to the 9.
It’s not douchey at all mate - that’s what the bike specific forums are for - so we can pick each others brains and draw upon accumulated knowledge and advice.

want the workshop manual, it took a while but i dfound and downloaded one for me Hornet, cant find a ZX9 one yet tho, one i found for mine had full exploded diagram’s.
