Stolen green Honda vfr 750fv 1997

My Viffer was stolen from my front garden two weeks ago (very steathily, I was in the house at the time and never heard a thing) Registration is R787 UYA Distinctive bits:laser exhaust, wierd melted paintwork on the rhs rear fairing over the exhaust (argued with my soft panniers), cracking around the long mounting bolt in both rear side fairing pieces. one indicator longer than the other, very rough unmatched green colour in a patch about 3 inches long on the right side of the tank (central fairing piece where it meets the top piece, its one layer of paint over a rough section of filler basically). Right hand side (RHS) top fairing has odd mottled paint effect (again one layer of paint over sections of white filler material although smooth here). RHS middle fairing has really obvious partially repaired damage around mounting bolt/crash bobbin. LHS fairing is slightly mishapen around around indicator (plastic broke off and I rebuilt the area with fiberglass and filler, subtle though). No decals on right side (because of the very much "in progress" nature of the repairs of course). Small white edge of filler visible between fairing joins next to headlights in one spot. Also has one of those curved one piece "flip up" touring windscreens in clear plastic. Front wheel mudguard has a triangular section of lumpy paint (all I had at the time was a little hand pot, never got around to sorting it properly). I've not seen another with the same exhaust before so she sounds pretty distinctive, here is a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ikAcF_uDB4

white areas in this photo have a single layer of green paint over them, so are still visible though more subtle.

Actually another point, the right hand side middle fairing still has the “honda racing” decal underneath the paint (the panel was so damaged I only expected it to be a quick and dirty temporary repair job but never got around to replacing it)

Also I realise It wont make any difference to you guys but there IS a £200 cash reward for info leading to the bikes recovery.

sorry to hear the news…shocking thieves are targeting sensible bikes like the vfr  i had one same colour with a remus hi-level can and left it in a petrol station all day with the keys in the ignition and not chained up it was still there when i came back!

hope you get some results and get it back

I was pretty shocked too, especially considering the damage to the fairings and the mint RSV4 30 seconds down the road. I doubt they could get more than 1k for it and it is so distinctive its only really worth much of anything to me ( for the memories and the fact I cant afford to replace it) than anyone else.

Still if the ones who took it were bright men, they probably wouldn’t be thieves.

mate really sorry to hear about yet another bike theft had my k6 gsxr1000 stolen the same night at 10:30pm heard the alarm go off and caught them in the act but was too late the bike was allready loaded I chased them but they got away where abouts did this happen mate hope you have a result as the insurance side of things is a pain in the ****

Sorry to hear about your friend’s bike, that must have been sickening being so close to catching them, did you manage to get their number plate at all?

Where did your’s get taken? mine was stolen from Millais road, Leyton.

As for the insurance, It had lapsed a few weeks earlier due to my student loan being delayed two months so I either get it back or I don’t get to ride again till I leave uni next year. I was …not amused when I remembered this (I may have punched a massive dent into the side of the filing cabinet my insurance details are kept in).
