UK REGISTRATIONS of supersports machines may be down over 27 per cent last month compared to March 2009 but that hasn’t stopped BMW from recording high sales for the S1000RR superbike.

UK customers snapped up 385 BMW S1000RRs in March 2010 alone.

The company also enjoyed strong sales of the ever-popular 1200GS range, with a combined monthly sales tally of 450 units for the GS and GS Adventure, as well as topping sales in the Touring category, with 212 sales of the R1200RT.

suspect some of those will be EU export due to the EUR/GBP exchange rate?

I’d agree with that.

I’m not surprised the best selling bike is the CBF125, with mpg upto 120+ it will sell like hot cakes. I am however surprised that Honda managed to sell 190 VFR1200!

Just had an email from a guy in the trade. He reckons this will be a poor year anyway, but the weather has’t helped.

His guess is 15-20% down across the year.

Is it me or are BMW the only company recently seeming to bring out “exciting” bikes suitable for day to day all round use?

Looks like Honda are doing okay!
