Standards vs Sport silencer

Hey,

If i need to change my silencer on my cbr125 is it worth it to get a sports/custom/special one or the original one??

If you think the sports then could you suggest a good value for money one.

thanks

Im hoping to get a CBR 125 in a few month what they like mate?

Scorpion do a race exhaust for your bike but its about 180 pound.

well for the time i had it, it was great, i found the transition from to scooter the bike easy, the gears are very easy to change on it. but after 4 days of riding it i managed to write it off, i think that’s some sort of record, heh.

here’s the whole story if you are interested in a bit of a read

Bloody women drivers never pay any attention while there on the road, Most of the time there on the phone or re-doing there makeup or somtimes both and if i was you i would have punched that bloke on the phone.

mate i bought mine on a saturday, insured it on a sunday and wrote it off on tuesday!!! new record

ah its a great lil bike though, especially for around london and commuting…much better than the 2strokes and better styling than CG’s…and u can pick up second hand ones for a good price compared to buying a YZF-R125

…wouldnt suggest investing any money in it apart from a couple of £ for rim tape and maybe some hot grips if you’re commuting during winter. i have heard some exhausts on these from distance and they sound allright, but the way i see it…save your money, do your test and save your money again for a bike whose first gear doesnt redline at 25mph!

around non bikers, people give it “wow’s” because its styling is a lot like its older brothers…but speed wise it does flat out what a 600RR does in first gear!

Another point to think about is that a CBT learner legal bike has two requirements:

Maximum of 125cc
Maximum of 14.8 HP

Changing the exhaust may liberate a couple of extra horses but it may invalid your license restrictions. To be honest I don’t think that the police would really care, nor the CPS but insurance companies are the greatest when it comes down to weaselling out of coughing up.

And let’s be honest is it worth the investment?

I’m maily asking because i might have to change my silencer with the insurance money, and i’m just wondering if it’s worth it to spend a liitle bit more an an exhaust or not.

ah right…well there’s a post on one of your other threads about a CBR modification company, and i had a look at it yesterday. check this out, they say its cheaper than a OEM honda exhaust http://www.wellerracingcorporation.com/index.php/stainless-steel/Honda-CBR-125-Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-System.html
