Have to say, ever since the VFR750 got a single sided swinger, it lost character, power and got fatter.
The early 750s were joyous to ride - light, nice handling and that fantastic engine.Later ones got heavy and ended up being a bit soulless. They don’t even have gear driven cams these days, so you miss that lovely whine from the motor (and the reliability)
I’d go for the sprint every time - a mate has one, and it’s his only means of transport as well as taking him round Britain and Europe - it’s never failed him and still looks good after 4 years and about 60k miles.
Just had 24000 mile service done on Sprint RS by none Triumph dealer and came out to £250, which is considerably better.
I must say that i love my VFR but reading this is making me consider offing it and getting a Sprint. I like the look of the triumph and the VFR is a bit “dry” round the edges, but its still a pretty quick bike, on several occasions i have given some of the 600’s a suprise.
The one thing with honda is it will last forever if you look after it, i have done 9,000 miles on mine this year with out a single problem, they also hold value really well.
Still thinking i might look at the sprint, anyone know a dealer in north london?
