Sports touring tire on an R1

Had a puncture yesterday and had to replace the rear tire.

For some reason I thought of trying Battlax BT 20 which is a sports tourer on my R1.

My reason for buying at the moment was that I wanted a tire that lasted long.
But after riding it for a while I realised I couldnt lean in as easily on this tire because of the profile.(may be its just my rubbish riding skills) Also the tire seems very hard.

Is it just psychological?
Do you guys think it was a mistake buying a sports touring tire for an R1?
Should I be careful while cornering.

Any of you have experience with this tire?

Thanks.

i used them on my zzr1100 and no worries with them and been scraping toe sliders a few times

have just upgraded tp the bt021 just beware they can be a bit noisier ( bt021’s)

it depends on what you want from the tyre …if you want maximum fun then maybe something s bit softer but if you want the best of both worlds they do me fine …

hmmm you have not got two diffrent types of tyres on bike have you ?

rear and front ?

they bt020/21 have a hard central part that allows the touring side of it but the outer edge is softer.

Thanks TimR,
I have Dunlop Sportmax on the front.

I ran my blade with an 020 on the back and an 014 on the front for about a year. It was fine running these, and used to tip into corners no problem.
