Spine Protectors ???

Ok apologies if i have not posted in the correct section.

At the moment i have Frank Thomas leather which has standard insert in the back pocket for back protection. I was looking to get uprated spine protection. But cant seem to find anything for it.

Has anyone bought aftermarket spine protection for a Frank Thomas? ie Alpinestars Armour etc?

Cheers

Stu

Forcefield do a range of replacement inserts. Have one in a Joe Rocket jacket.

Forcefield are highly regarded, you should be able to get one from any bike shop.

You may want to consider a separate back protector so you can use it with multiple jackets.

And, yes, the forcefield ones are great I think.

got an oxford 6 piece spine saver, its comfy and i dont notice it when ive got my jacket on…well worth the money

Macbook Pro’s. Work a dream.

But no, I use one of these -

forcefield or Knox are the best for inserts, but like everyone says for <£100 you should get a good separate back protector which will outlast the various jackets you buy.

i use this Dainese Paraschiena Wave Back & Shoulder Blade Protector in black and red not this horrid colour

Agree, the Forcefield or Knox are very popular. Personally the standard ‘Issue tissue’ is about as much use as a cream cracker. I use a Knox Aegis

Last year when I was looking for a back protector Afro was very helpful and PMed me with some helpful pictures of various types. One was the Hein Gericke one, which I ended up buying. It works like a vest and goes on under the jacket.

Knox do a similar one according to Afro - but the one below is the one I got and it’s been great (and no that’s not me wearing it LOL )

Crickey, you’ve changed!

Yes I believe I have changed a little since the Op. They tell me I look better as Henry  LOL

Me too, quite the thing it is. The built-into-a-vest type Hels has would be better for winter for sure, are probably easier to put on too! Oh, and don’t highlight the rolls of fat as much either :-/ Damn Bakewell Tart.
