Speed cameras

Just a quick heads up to you all. This isn’t a wind up and has come from a very relaible source. I thought it wise to share with you all.

I have received information from RPU Traffic Management that the company who look after the Variable Speed cameras between Jct 10 - 15 on the M25 on behalf of the Metropolitan police are ACTIVATING the cameras from 15/02/08. The current cameras are analogue and the speed for enforcement is set at 93mph. However the system is changing to Digital and the Commissioner as directed the company to set the cameras at ACPO guidelines, this will be 80mph.

This is part a section of an email sent to senior people and I have had it verified by a few people for me.

No they’re rearward facing, in the gantrys above the motorway where they display the variable speed limit. I’ve heard this from several sources now, all quoting an e-mail from someone in the Met. There have been numerous fake e-mails of this type over the last couple of years, but I’m not willing to take a chance, not that I travel round that part of the M25 often…
