had a look on google after i clocked the thread, gona go round via borough road, hoep its not a one way road!
According to tfl Southwark Street at the Junction with Thrale Street is closed - this is close to Stoney Street but diversions are in place.

road was blocked off rom the borough to southwark bridge rd so ya might not be able to enter borough market from normal entrance, there is an entrance along borough rd on left going toward london bridge.
anyone know who it was?
from what i heard he was a courier. got hit really hard by what looked like a golf sent the bike from the middle lane to the pavement. heard later he was on life support and not expected to pull through. hope i’ve heard wrong though and he gets better really sad way to go.
i will see wot i can find out.

sad news, the road was closed off from mid-afternoon, saw the emergency services up the road from our office, had a bad feeling as we see many bike accidents on this road and the crossroads leading onto southwark bridgehope they pull through ok
hey m8, wherebouts you work then? i work in (you know where, lol) which is next road up from southwark bridge rd.
Spoke to one the bright yellow peeps by the road blocks, he told me that a biker was involved in an accident with a car. That the car driver was at fault, and at the time, the biker who was a courier was not expected to live, he was only breathing due to a machine.
always a downer hearing news like that…
biker was taken out by a right turning car and it is not fatal at this time.
Now, this could be bike fault if hes going on the outside and car is turning right legally and properly, i have seen how some twats ride.
Hope he pulls through.
not sure about that mate. it looked like the golf had pulled out of the side street where we all leave the market going straight on. i think the driver must not have seen the bike coming down the street as he tried to get to the other site and then met him in the middle. either way not pretty hope the guy pulls through.
I work on Blackfriars Bridge, south side, so thats my route home. As i was stopped at the lights wondering how to get home, i saw a HUGE red ambulance marked HEATHROW AIR AMBULANCE scream past on the other side of the road…
Fingers crossed he pulls through… Its shocking to think I ride that road every day, so could just as easilly happen to me!
