Hey Boys… Me n my friends were looking to go to the south of wales next month. Apparentlly theres sme good country roads around there. NE advice on the roads we could take for a good run? high speed and twisties would be good.
twisties you’ll find in abundance, high speed? give my regards to Dai the plod, as you will probably meet him sooner rather than later:) 
try the forest of dean, or head over to the west coast.
The A40 that runs along the bottom of south wales pretty much is a stonking bit of road
The A40 is indeed ‘stonking’ and i have fond memories of the whole brecon/merthyr area as i lived in south wales as a kid.
Iwould say it runs across the top of s wales tho’ not the bottom.
Keep well away from cardiff and you can’t go too far wrong.

Thats kinda what i meant Zeph, not the very bottom of south wales

The roads around Swansea are good too, head toward Mumbles and the Gower. Lovely bit of coastline too.
Just got back from a w’end in South Wales - did 230 mile ride out from Llanristant to near enough Aberstwyth.A470 into Brecon Beacons is awesome, then A40 to Llandovery, then onto A483 to Bulith Wells, thro’ Newtown, then Llanidoes. Returned thro’ Rhayader on the A470 again.
Returned back to base down A470.
That’s not all of it, but main routes and town names I recognise on Google maps!
The roads are amazing - apparently lots of Police, incl helicopter, at weekends, beware.
We did this on Friday and saw 2 local bobby mobiles. No bother at all.
depends on ya start point, but A40 oxford/cheltenham/ross on wye a good start then on towards abergaveny up over heads of valley past merthyr tydfill to llanelli, then turn round and do it in reverse 
+1 I love The Gower. The Vale of Neath and Brecons are worth a visit too:cool:

check the speed cameras and check the bridges
they “love” speeding people in wales so please be very very careful
