ok this time is a GPZ 500, spoken to this guy, said all sounds ok, he bought it for the wife but does not want it, has mot’s to prove mileage but no service history.
He said £500 so what do you think at £500 I would then be able to get it serviced as well…
You have plenty of rights when you buy from eBay. Just make sure you exercise them. If the bike doesn’t match the description in any way, that could cost you money. Failing to mention pertinent points about the bike is effectively lying, so just tell the owner and walk away. First thing to do is make sure the registration document ties up with the frame number and engine number on the bike, and make sure these numbers haven’t been tampered with. If there’s anything wrong here, walk away.
Other than that, just check the usual suff. It looks like a good bike.
like I say he sounds like quiet a mature guy, he bought it for his wife and she does not want it hence the sale. so I think on that front I don’t think it will be a ringer…
You should check anyway. Just coz he’s a nice mature guy, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been ripped off by someone less scrupulous. He could have bought a ringer and never twigged.
its in ashford which is about 50 miles away. and the £500 is outside of ebay, he has it up for £550 in his local paper. But like the HPI idea I will do that before I veiw which will be this weekend if it has not already sold.
whats your budget for another bike ? have you been round dealers to see if they got any cheap n cheerful part ex’s in, or looked in bikemart or type cheap motorbikes into search see what comes up, no smartass comment about mine being cheap thank you !! :D:D
