Fair enough… il now go and read other posts in other sections where a lot of you support taking it easy in congestion traffic, not running reds, where ppl laugh at fair weather riders… Hmmmmm sounds slightly contradictory doesnt it?

The FortuneTeller has long lurked on the London Biker forums. I have never joined previously, since I am just a commuter and not a ‘proper’ Biker. Also, I have increasingly more problems with other Bikes as other road users.
I have some predictions to share; firstly, in the future there will be many more posts on London Bikers concerning the ineptitude of pedestrians, push-bike riders, scooters, 4x4’s, white vans and BMW drivers, but not, necessarily, in that order.
I have some specific predictions for the fair-weather Bikers travelling in from the east this last week. You on the noisy red Ducatti; I didn’t see you during the winter… perhaps it refused to start in the cold wet weather? You serve to confirm my opinion that the louder the bike, the more aggressively and poorly it is ridden. Riding at that speed on crowded and congested roads… you won’t last much longer.
To you on the noisy black v-twin thing that tried to cut me up on Gants Hill Roundabout; If I was vindictive I would hope that you didn’t last much longer. Time was when you didn’t have to worry about other bikes doing stuff like this, now it’s a ******* free-for-all.
To you on the blue and white GSXR-?. It’s not a race. Jumping the red lights doing about 80mph just past the Whitechapel Hospital, passing me as I stop; you won’t last much longer doing that. Maybe the young guy on the black Ninja with L-plate and comfy shoes this-morning has seen you do this and thinks it’s a good idea. The FortuneTeller does not think so. Most of the other road-users in that area should not be in charge of a Donkey, let alone a motor vehicle, and seem to consider red traffic lights as optional. Please be careful everyone!
Oh! lastly, one more thing. If I am stopped again by a Policeman who lectures me at length regarding the incorrect angle of dangle of my legal sized number plate, I shall not remain in stunned silence, but politely ask how the investigations into my two burglaries and stolen car are progressing after all these years.

And his reply may be, “well I’ll find out for you as soon as I’ve finished reporting you for the various things I find over the next half hour whilst I’m inspecting your bike” !

I read this post same way…as a bit of a laugh. Dont think its a matter of LB clique though, as there were only a few comments said in the way they read it obviously, and not from the majority of us all?Fortuneteller is entitled to make what ever comments he/she pleases, thats the reason of the forum, end of. I think i can safely say, ALL of us at some time or other have had other bikers shooting past us at, wtf speeds…and we react in our own way…for me? i just think, “hope you make it to where youre heading safely buddy” for Fortuneteller, they just wanted to air it on here, so whats the problem? Ive been on rideouts, ive been on the way to and from work, ive been to mates houses, on lone rides, and always come across a biker who i think is not dressed right (in my eyes), or one whos riding a bit erratic, like they are on drugs or something, or they just persist in trying to get you into a dog fight with them, or they fancy their bike is better than yours and do all they can to pass you, at stupid positioning and speeds, or who do all they can to get past you to jump the red light and go ahead of you…but i think thats THEM, not me…If anything, and for all my years riding and wisdom, i would say to Fortuneteller, put the aggression behind you, leave it to them…and enjoy your ride for yourself, by yourself, with yourself, and within your own limits maybe ? Get home and be glad you can get to sleep in your own bed again and not one provided by the state…;)Im not for one minute having a go at Fortuneteller, cos as i said, i can understand the frustration and dont think its jealously…cos to know your own limits on your bike is a real life saver…lets put it this way, and im being honest here…im no slouch and i can ride with the best of them, but i really am impressed by riders like Mark (Angies other half) by johnnybravo, by elad, by Afro, by Shewolf (shes a very competent rider and i love going on rides with her), by my little darling Stacey(tattooistchick) she reminds me of me when i was her age…aah times i miss !! but shes brill on her bikes…and i hope she decides to try something professionally cos i think she will go far …seriously… there are LOADS of other bikers on here that i really love riding with, cos they ALL have their own way of riding and most have some real good tips for you…Andrew has a fountain of knowledge…so does M9 to be fair to the nutter !! each one of them have passed me when im doing …well err…im doing enough lets say ;), but i dont look on them and think anything…they are riding the way they enjoy and im doing the same. It may be frustrating i suppose,if you feel that way, but ride within your limits and what you are comfortable with, i dont go through red lights either, so what if they do? whos ass is likely to get caught, not yours or mine? +1… well put.Ddnt mean to tar all with the same brush by stating a “cliquey” response seemed present… And those off here i have met have been very nice, good fun and genuine peeps who were very welcoming. But to say there is not any cliquey atmosphere to greet any new member of the forum (even if only constituting a small minority on here) doesnt seem true…(in MY opinion). For a start… the reply stating “if you dnt like it you know what to do…” simply reiterates this point. Its a forum… open to all. I joined to meet other bikers in the London area - having only recently moved back down south after a few yrs… and also to offer any advice i might be able to dprovide on topics aking for it, and to participate in discussions over matters that we all have a keen interest in… namely “bikes”.

Thats why forums are great for advice i find - esp for random / perculiar problems… Will almost always be someone who has experienced the same thing before and can tell you the best / easiest way to get yourself sorted…

Im not for one minute having a go at Fortuneteller, cos as i said, i can understand the frustration and dont think its jealously…cos to knowyour own limits on your bike is a real life saver…lets put it this way, and imbeing honest here…im no slouch and i can ride with the best of them, but i really am impressed by riders like Mark (Angies other half) by johnnybravo, by elad, by Afro, by Shewolf (shes a very competent rider and i love going on rides with her), by my little darling Stacey(tattooistchick) she reminds me of me when i was her age…aah times i miss !! but shes brill on her bikes…and i hope she decides to trysomething professionally cos i think she will go far …seriously…there are LOADS of other bikers on here that i really love riding with, cos they ALL have their own way of riding and most have some real good tips for you…Andrew has a fountain of knowledge…so does M9 to be fair to the nutter !! each one of them have passed me when im doing …well err…im doing enough lets say ;), but i dont look on them and think anything…they are riding the way they enjoy and im doing the same. It may be frustrating i suppose,if you feel that way, but ride within your limits and what you are comfortable with, i dont go through red lights either, so what if they do? whos ass is likely to get caught, not yours or mine?

My pet hate are young scooter riders who persist in thinking they can do what you can on your bike…im not including the “normal” riders just the idiots who put speakers on theirscooters and bop along paying more attention to seeing if other people can hear it as loud as they can and not seeing you are trying to get past them, legally i might add, cutting you up and making you spit blood in your crash helmet !! god …wheres my bloody gun !!!

Ddnt mean to tar all with the same brush by stating a “cliquey” response seemed present… And those off here i have met have been very nice, good fun and genuine peeps who were very welcoming. But to say there is not any cliquey atmosphere to greet any new member of the forum (even if only constituting a small minority on here) doesnt seem true…(in MY opinion).

For a start… the reply stating “if you dnt like it you know what to do…” simply reiterates this point.

Its a forum… open to all. I joined to meet other bikers in the London area - having only recently moved back down south after a few yrs… and also to offer any advice i might be able to dprovide on topics aking for it, and to participate in discussions over matters that we all have a keen interest in… namely “bikes”.

Seems to me some need to take their own advice about ‘lightening up’. :Whistling:

I would say my reponse throughout this thread has been comparatively light-hearted: saying that the guys i have met off here are good genuine people, and saying its a public forum and my opinion of what forums are useful for… compared to your first response to fortune teller of: yawns…

So i assume you are referring to my reference to your “if you dont like it you know what to do” response to my “opinion” that a small minority of people on here can portray a cliquey nature. I would have thought the majority of ppl might read a “if you dnt like it, lump it” response to a suggestion of a cliquey minority as being support for that view…

If you were being sarcastic, i appologise for biting the bait! As i dnt know you it is hard to know what ppl are like - and i suppose i got swept up in the rigour of the thread! Friends?? lol!
