- John Travolta is a really really bad actor… in fact to call it acting is quite a stretch… its more like embarssing himself in front of a camera but after a very succesful shame amputation…
- Liberal politics don’t work don’t work in real life, just like communism never did… in fact any polticial ideal is great on paper, but utterly impractical when you throw the egos humans have into the equation…
- If it tells you its a “complete meal” but its frozen you can safely assume it is tasteless pulp with certain textures, a lot of salt and saturated fat added to make you think its tasty but fundamentally it has ZERO nutritional value and should be avoided.
- Guy Richie really is a one trick pony who got lucky (making the same film over and over which have been succesful at the box office to the publics shame that they haven’t worked out its the same damm film over and over again) but had to sell his soul to Satan (by sticking a bit of himself into that stringy hag Madonna) to achieve that luck.
- Men over 25 who ride skateboards with those jeans that show off their pants really should know better.
- And men who moisturise should have their “Man Club” cards revoked automatically
- Riding a motorbike automatically makes you awesome… riding a scooter is ok, a bicycle is borderline but should still be accepted as a badge of cool… driving a car makes you a victim, but if you’re a biker driving a car, you better make us proud and show respect to any biker who passes you…and remember, that biker thinks you’re " just another cager"
- Insurance is a fraudulent way of robbing people and certainly NOT done in the interest of those that expect ultimately to be covered by the insurance policy they are legally obliged to pay for.
- The Tories are the first government to EVER take our country into a TRIPLE dip recession…
- I am old and am allowed to say things like “Kids these days…”
- Old people hold most of the wealth in this country proportionately speaking but do the least work and produce the least with the least value to our culture save their ability to spend money. They also block the most progress as they live “in the past” and consume the most resources of the NHS as they die more and more slowly. This can’t continue.
- Rights DON’T exist… the sooner we learn that life is hard and no one has RIGHTS, the sooner we will understand some bloody hard decisions about how we live are going to have to be made.

Just my opinion - but I reckon it’s excellent.
I think context also plays a part - if you are expecting something redolent of vintage 70’s 80’s Bowie you will be dissapointed - as it’s a slow, melancholy piece.
On the other hand if you re-calibrate your expectations and remember that this is written by a guy in his sixties, looking back on his life and wondering how the hell he ended up an old guy then you will hear it anew in all it’s beauty.
Maybe it’s a personal thing - the Bowie track would have done nothing for me when I was twenty, far too slow and boring - but twenty years later - having notched up a lot of experience and memory - you do spend a lot of time looking back and wondering who the f*ck you now are - so I totally get the mood of this track.
The bottom line is if I thought it sounded sh1t I wouldn’t like it regardless of context/meaning - but I think it’s really beautiful.
