now I don’t normally do this but I have to say that Escape Studio’s ( http://www.escapestudios.co.uk/ ) are running a fantastic offer right now for anyone that wants to have a try out and see if they want to get into CGI or VFX … considering we were talking about this last week and an hour of a CG artists time is £70 i thought i’d give it a go !
These courses are normally top top dollar , but they have some funding from the European training blah blah blah and I’ve just booked myself on the following 5 day course for £129 !!!

The Visual Effects | Fundamentals course is an excellent progression from our Learning Day. This five day course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the methods, techniques and software packages used within the film effects, post production and video
game industries.
Over a basic project, students will create a simple 3D character in Maya and then composite it into a live-action environment using Shake. The course will give students a full taste of both 2D and 3D production and the ways they are combined.
Skillset price is VAT exempt.
The project is funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund, the LSC and Skillset.
