I’m considering fitting one to my 94 Fireblade project bike, but I’m not sure if they are worth the £200 extra cost when I could just rebuild the current master cylinder…
I’ll be fitting braided hoses and I’ve rebuilt the calipers so the rest of the braking chain is sorted… Just wondering about the master cylinder…?
Yeah been looking at those but apparently the ratio better suits radial calipers. Mine has conventional calipers which would be best suited to a 19/20 ratio master cylinder, or so the internet tells me…
i have one on my 2011 blade, bloody big difference!! The good news is it came off my K2 gixxer. So they can cross over bikes, i cannot remember even if i had to send it off to brembo for them to change around a bit.
with 4pots i would (do) run a 19/18. the 19/20 has a firmer feel to the lever buts needs a little more effort for the same stopping as the 19/18.
19/20 works great on 6pot calipers though
oh and any of the Brembo OE radial master cylinders are NOT the same as the after market race ones
OK, bit late but be aware there’s a lot of fake Brembo master cyls on ebay. Google “fake Brembo master cyl” for the tell tale signs & check yours when you receive it, If it’s dodgy & you’ve bought with paypal then at least you can claim a refund.
