So I just came back from Vietnam...

And I got to ride these roads… in Sapa, North Vietnam, I did it on a crappy semi automatic 110cc honda, but still it was a blast! I did also record it on the Go Pro, but sadly I used the chest strap and all I have is many minutes of the freaking dashboard of the bike :crying: . Absolutely stunning scenery, overloaded trucks, massive potholes, diesel spills, jaw dropping cliffs, buffalos and farm animals in the middle of the road… We even did some off road to visit the Mong people villages, those bikes can take anything! 100% recommended. There was some caravans of people on GS, but to be honest, I don’t think the bike matters that much, is not that you can speed anyways.

niiiiiiiice

V.Nice! Thanks for sharing

lurvelly, more pics please.

wow, what a scenery, would love to see more!! Vietnam is very high in my bucket list, need to get there!
What about biking culture there in general? Is it as mental as TopGear showed in their special?

Sure, they are not bike related but if you wish to see some shots of the trip, here you go… I’m the one with the ridiculous hair

Hanoi is insane, I think that top gear paints a very accurate picture of the madness, I look to Vietnamese commuters with a lot of respect, we spend hours talking about safety and what not, man… if you could only see a family of 5 on a moped toddler included, no helmets, carrying all kinds of stuff… cero F***s given…

I recommend Vietnam, it’s dirt cheap, safe and beautiful

Great photos, not too dissimilar to Thailand…maniacs on scooters also

Some lovely photos, particularly this one

many times in vietnam i thought was gonna die…and that was just travelling on local buses.

Credit goes to my friend Hamish. I just carried the go pro, video to come soon…

awesome pics mate!!!

Excellent. Whenever you hear some London biker moaning about bad traffic, just have a little internal chuckle

Here the video with the highlights as promised, jump to 2:20 for the scootering bit. Filmed with a GoPro Hero (the cheap one) at 1080 and 60fps, a pitty that youtube killed so much of the quality, I’m very very please with the outcome of the video quality for the price of of the camera.
