so happy........

long story short, when my mum and dad split me old man moved back to taunton and got back into biking (having not wridden for 20+ years) he got himself a stunning demo model K1200R in yellow with silver frame (only one ever made in this colour scheme) Knowing that it was only a year or so till I was on two wheels I was mega excited about some father son biking action

when on the way home from the pub one night, some guys started verbally abusing this girl walking in front of him so he told em to leave out the abuse. They ended up sneaking up on him and punching him from the side, fell into a tree and que bleeding of the brain, month in hospital, all balance totally gone. Ultimately bike sold due to either a 18 month+ recovery or not even a full recovery

he spent the £££ on a BMW 330D and gave up all hope of riding again as he was just so wobbly, even 2 years later couldn’t do the whole look up to the sky and touch your nose drunk test.

Finally, finally he has regained all balance and when I phoned him tonight he was doing the ebay advert selling the car as he’s sick of all me bike stories and talk and wants back in…

Don’t see him nearly half as much as I should, but this will def give us an extra incentive to spend more time together enjoying our shared passion… Im so made up

this was his old bike, stupidly fast thing

Glad to hear your Dad’s on the mend after that awful experience.

Getting back into your passion can only be a good thing. My Dad got back into biking a couple of years ago at 75, and its been a new lease of life for him. Even leading a couple of rideouts around Wales, to everyone’s delight … stay tuned

Wow…you can’t even walk down the street safely nowadays…and now I hear some nutter has stabbed a woman and chopped her head off in a supermarket, while she was just minding her own business in Tenerife!

But I digress…glad to hear your dad is getting better. More biking fun for you soon!

That’s a great post Leon, it’s so important to spend time with your dad (and mum!) as time tends to run away with you. My 8 year old son has his first proper football match tomorrow and I think I’m more nervous than him. Wouldn’t miss it for the world though

Thats good news dude

Great news to hear about your dad mate.
