Its so cold out there on the bike…any tips from senior riders on how to keep warm…in this weather

You wanted advice from “senior riders”? As I was riding before JFK was assassinated, do I count as a senior?
First: Whimp. It’s still only October/Autumn. Some of us still ride when it gets January/February cold.
Second: Motorcycle gear and the choices have come to a point where me and friends back then would have looked at as Nirvana.
Third: Layers. But you don’t need the news paper one(s) any more. Well, not unless it gets proper cold.
Fourth: Whimp!
Even my tortoise is still awake, so it’s still warm.

Buy good quality winter riding jacket, trousers and gloves.
Slow down a tad, wind chill does do it, layers and good kit are the answer. Good gloves, neck buff and a decent warm jacket helps enormously. Heated grips are very nice to have, but you can survive without if your gear is good. Come January, you’ll find the snot freezing in your nose and wishing you could have a heated helmet never mind gloves…

For added warmth to your winter gloves, Hein Gericke do silk gloves that add an additional layer for your hands. Does make a difference, and doesn’t add to the bulk.
Remember many thin layers are better than few thick layers.
