As everyone seems to be getting humpy about stuff that has nothing to do with the original one about someone getting knocked off, I thought I’d join in.
I’d like to take offence to everyone’s use of the word “them”.
I consider myself one of “them”.
In fact a tear comes to my eye whenever an upstanding Daily Mail reading, knob-cheese member of the British middle classes sneers down their Volvo-surrounded family’s nose at me, “Oh, one of “them””.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO BE…ie Not a member of that heinously bland, dull, characterless world. “Them” in that context is utterly aspirational in my book.
So less of the corrupting of the “them” word thank you very much…
