Weather looks dry, track is fun and quite easy, only £99 for the day. Not going to bother with hotel this time, just drive straight there in the morning.
I’m still waiting for my passport to arrive so a cold UK track is about the best I’ll get for a while, have fun in the sun and think of us riding in near freezing at 6am :w00t:
Will be joining you for some Spanish track fun next year.
What a perfect day, bl*ody cold getting there, 3C and foggy but an excellent track day, dry, sunny, warm and no idiots I had no idea my bike was so capable, I think I’m starting to appreciate what it can do, I did a couple of silly things but it never so much as got out of shape, just kept a reasonable line and got on with the job Except when I thought I was simply going too fast to turn at the end of the start/finish straight and ended up on the grass, I think the bike would have coped fine but I didn’t have the guts to try. No damage just a quick detour.
Although I was still in novice group I wasn’t the slowest and Roadkill took most of a session to gain on me which I thought was pretty good, given he’s reasonably quick Sean was again a bit of a demon on corners, didn’t realise an SV650 could go so quick !
Great company as usual and a great day, well worth £99. I’ll post up some pics later.
Good to hear it all went well! The 600rr Kawasaki is an incredible track tool and I think it will have many more pleasant surprises as to what it can do… I’ve ridden some of the older models but can’t wait to try a new one out:cool:
An absolutely superb day. Only my 3rd track day and I never realised I had improved that much since six years ago when I tried it on my Fireblade. I think I shall have to try intermediates in future and see how far I still have to go.
I’m still stiff, especially my in my right leg :pinch:
The best part of the day? MY KNEE WENT DOWN!!! (First time ever in my ten years of riding).
I can’t wait for the next one. Still tempted by Donnington on the 19th.
Nice one steve, looks like you are really making progress, glad that you are discovering the bike, and as B said, there are a many many joys to come!!!
RK, yeah you are right a bit about the spine twisting, I’m not an expert, but might help if you try and look around your screen past the corner and push the opposite shoulder into the corner (i.e. turning right try to tip your left shoulder into the corner).
