can anyone help me in my decision to fit on a new can on the end …
thinking of the Yoshimura TRC carbon fiber slip-on, has anybody tried this out … ?
i’ve tried the Racefit but it was way too loud … any other suggestions ? ?

Yoshimura JP exhausts are the only real exhausts for that bike, considering the Yoshimura connection, but if you want to look at other ones, I would recommend Akrapovic or Arrow. Anything else hasn’t got the quality in my experience. I run Racefit personally, and yes, it can be too loud, but on balance, I love it.
also, without a power commander would a yoshi slip on and a k&n air filter really make much of a difference to the current power levels ?? would it be rougher ?
Is the TRC Yoshi the US made cheap ones on ebay ? If so, they are not as well made as Jap Yoshis.
I had the same dilemma, now I wish I went for the full system Yoshi, I dont like the Arrow or Akra as they stick out all the way back “like a normal bike”
For rejetting, a “Yoshi Box” will modify the std mapping, Steve Jordan MCs have some other type of mod box that I heard very good things of, or you could get a PC3. All of these options can be set up close to how you want it, but setting up your bike on a dyno will get you more refinement and smoother fuelling than any generic map/setting.
i cant afford the full system right now … so will hv to do a slip on, and from what i’ve read now i’m gona have to get myself a PC or something similar to actually get the power.
what about the sound , are yoshi’s loud or not much more than the stock can ?
i’m looking for something considerably louder and deeper but not like the racefits//
It is not really about “getting the power”… I think new FI systems’ LAMBADA sensors detect the change and alter the fuelling for it, so you dont run dangerously lean like with a carbed bike, but to do better than that you remap the std ingntion box in the 2 ways I said above, or override it with a PCIII.
Soundwise the Yoshi is lovely, not intrusive, but people, including the enemy, “do know you are coming” The full system is [allegedly] just deeper, growlier, but wont get you banned from UK trackdays. The extra power it makes [10 bhp and more torque] is really only academic unless you are very used to the bike…
There’s not much point messing with the excellent Suzuki fuel-injection by changing the exhaust unless you’re prepare to do it properly and get a custom map for the power-commander, IMO. You can go cheap and get a slipon and then a yoshi-box remap, but it’s not going to be as smooth as the standard bike, or as smooth as a power-commander’ed bike. It depends how fickle you are though, if you just ride around town then perhaps it’s not so important to you, but if you ride the bike hard and expect faultless fueling mid-corner when you’re fully commited, then spend the dosh and get a power commander and custom map.
Personally I’m running a Racefit with a power commander and custom map made on Crescent Suzuki’s dyno at their BSB center. The fuelling is faultless, I have total confidence in it! There’s nothing worse than being mid-corner, and either getting off the gas and it being rough on you, or getting on the gas and it being jerky, upsetting the bike. I’ve had that before with yoshi-box remaps on my previous K4 750. It sucked. I went out the day after that trackday and went down the power-commander route.
Horses for courses, basically.
Also, remember you can cut the Akrapovic/Arrow cans down to make them look nicer, and offer a deeper sound. You’d be remapping anyhow so it makes no difference fuelling wise.
What about suspension, have you already tweaked it?
Jay I run a Racefit Mega on my 750 sounds awesome, not had it on a Dyno yet to check th efuelling though as it seems to run OK. Also I spoke to Racefit and ordered a baffle to use on Trackdays
