I can see a lot of benefits with this helmet, specially in London.
But i can’t help but wonder if it will take some of the purity and fun out off biking :Whistling:
What do you guy’s think?

I’ve been watching it closely, very cool idea.
They send a LOT of emails, especially lately.
Also, the pre-order for the international version is $1500 USD- imagine if you dropped it?
Not a cheap helmet- I won’t be buying one until I know i is rock solid, actually works and comes down in price.
If the market supports it then the big makers will find a way to incorporate some of the tech into their helmets.
Hmm…looks interesting. Will need to keep my eye on this! (having just tried out Google Glass, and realised that they’re not really suited for full riding purposes)
I think it’s a really ugly looking helmet and the HUD box would be distracting, what’s wrong with looking over your shoulder? it’s been the way for over a hundred years!!! I think it’s unnecesary technology, my Bluetooth headset in my lid cost me £30 and does everything that would do minus the rear view camera, and the rear view camera is the only part of that lid i don’t see the point of!!
I didn’t see the point of something like that as i thought it would be a massive distraction, but looking at that Nuviz Video it looks quite good, and much better than a rear view camera. a rear view camera would be very distracting IMO.
I’d like to see one in the flesh to see how it actually looks and how much view it interfeers with when actually on your head.
Also how does it take pics and vids? is it the phone that is recording/shooting? if so it would need to be pointed at the subject which 9 times out of 10 it won’t be when on the bike!!
This is a good point on there FAQ’s as to why the NUVIZ doesn’t have a rear view camera…
Why is there no rear-view camera installed? When we set out to determine what functionality to include, a rearview camera was certainly one of the features we initially thought would be nice – but in the end we decided against it for a few reasons:
The information presented to the user on a near-to -eye display or head-up display need to be minimalistic and intuitive in other words symbology. Streaming video of what’s behind was often reported in tests to be distracting and still did not replace checking your mirrors or looking over your shoulder.
A camera on the back of your helmet will move with your head at all times. If you look to your right, you will see what’s behind you on your left side, etc. This is difficult for your brain to correlate where the camera is looking with what you’re seeing.
That said, we believe that Ride:HUD will serve as the central hub for many of the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled devices along with your smartphone. A wireless camera attachment to the back of the bike (not the helmet) is something we will investigate as we continue to build out the complete ecosystem for NUVIZ.
LOL. Is that so you can be a model citezen and move out the way so they can pass you due to you only going the speed limit and them needing to pass at a higher speed?
I wonder if Markus Weller has ever ridden a motorbike? Or is he just a silicon valley nerd.
Like nobody has ever thought of putting a camera in the back of a crash helmet with a small LCD screen (from digital SLR camera viewfinder) mounted at the top of the visor hole.
The trailer doesn’t mention anything about a crash test or achieved rating?
IT HAS AN OPERATING SYSTEM - EEEEKKK you might have to call tech support before each ride…
