so… this is probably more of a holiday than a ride out, right?
is anyone planning on going over to ireland to watch some of the crazy road racing action on show over there? a few of my mates and i are planning on heading over to ireland (fishguard - rosslare for us) on wednesday june 30th, and coming back on monday 3rd july.
the plan is to get off the ferry and have a couple of days of riding around ireland and drinking beer and eating pies, then park up for a spaztacular couple of days of racing on country lanes (and drinking and eating pies ).
Looks like fun, and the TT as well earlier in the month and good weather, decisions decisions.
If you`ve not been before the Irish are very accomadating for bikers, but they might want your life story.
As its looking like the best part of two and a half ton for me to get to the TT, I am well interested! As long as the old girl is in decent shape and also on the presumption that I have found full time work by then - I am well on for some of that! Got any route/circuit in mind? West Coast/Galway areas are great for fish and chips that time of year!
Keep me posted Chris!
(ps - wouldnt worry bout the no accomodation thing on the Fisguard- Rosslare route, only takes something like six hours and there’s loads of quiet areas with nearly fully reclining chairs on the boats should you feel for a snooze!)
2 hours, that’s pretty damn fast! Been a while since I did the route, going to see if I can round up some more troops to accompany…get a 'lil possee together!
ok, you got me a bit nervous now. i was chatting with my mate last night and suggested that we book the ferry (at least) soon. he then threw a spanner in the works as he is looking for a new bike to go out there on - he doesn’t have the reg number obviously. i’m wondering how serious the ferry companies take this as i know they have an input box for reg number when you book… can’t you just say 1 bike and rider then turn up on the day and let them know the reg?
