Sintered pad's

just had some put in my 06 hornet, on the front, daaaamn they are noisy! my bikes sounds liek a frigging bus the amount of squeal, anyone had the same problem?

braking is not effected, they stop just fine! nice and sharp and no pulsing of the lever so nothings wonky.

need to bed in?

maybe, not done mega miles on em yet but ferk me they are noisy! its getting annoying.

Did you put a dab of copperslip on the back of the pads ?

no, and this is bothering me now, old wives tale im told :smiley: maybe not huh!

The magic potion can work wonders

I had Mick change my pads recently to sintered. I did note the copper grease on the back. No noise no nothing.

Do as the NumNum suggests.

to be fair me and the youngster done em in a hurry so we didnt grease em up, i will get it done, just getting time.

i shall go and harrass mick as i normally do.

Bit of chain lube on the brake disks will stop brake squeal

Apart from the missing copper grease, the noise is is due to the things machining you discs down towards their minimum thickness.

These things were designed to be used for frequent use under heavy braking (sounds like race use to me) and are not good news for road riding as they are rarely ever at their best working temperature.

But they will give you lovely shiny discs as they grind off the surfaces.

probably stop me stopping altogther too:D

i’m aware they wear discs more, but i liek my brakes sharp and i also like to make progress so they defiently get hot enough!

Please, nobody take me seriously!

I got sintered HH pads in mine too, and they squeal as well. I did grease them properly too, as per Matt@OMC’s instruction.

At least with those pads (Carbone Lorraine) it’s apparently a common thing

Most sintered pads will squeak as they have bits of metal in them.

yeah i had the same thing… really noisy no matter how much copper grease i put. I went back to OEM and the brakes where quiet and actually better

really? no shiiit!:D:w00t:

to be honest pan i will put up with the noise as the OE pads were shocking!

these have much much better bite.

ah, cheers dude, i had EBC HH in my SV’s and never had any issues, i stayed away from EBC HH as i am reliably informed that they dont work well with Honda Hornets for some reason, but these ones (CL)…jeeeez stoppies are a breeze if i want too!

Have you changed the hoses or still on stock?
