Getting some new equipment delivered today and currently awaiting dvla to approve me as an authorised numberplate supplier (doesnt matter for show plates anyway ) I have still to price plates up, but i reckon about a tenner per plate INCLUDING p+p
Here’s a draft template that i’ve knocked up:
its going to take me a few days to set the equipment/software up. this template is using the standard road legal style font, but other fonts will be available.
equipment all set up, software sussed out and first couple of plates run through successfully i needed a new plate for my bike anyway!
ordering blanks today so ready to pump plates out after the weekend. 9x7, 7x5, standard font, 3d, carbon effect, hi-line, usual show fonts that are available elsewhere… can put username on there somewhere also.
what, you think i’m only a member of just one website?
when i have a large number of people there wanting plates, and not so many here showing interest, stands to reason i’m going to test out there template first, dont it?
i knocked up a webpage with online platebuilder - it lets you tap in your reg number, select font, backgrounds, borders, plate size etc and updates the image realtime
the page is fully functional, so if you hit the buy button, it does 2 things… 1. takes a snapshot of the info for me so i know what i’m putting together, 2. directs to paypal.
dose the border always cover up the slogan or is that a template glich? and i like them are they all legal and ready yet if i was to put a show plate on with london bikers on and got stoped by police would this cause problems for the site? because if so i wont do it if not i will
i open up the border so it doesnt go across the slogan (it says so on the plate builder)
to be honest, as long as the plate isnt teeny and the text is legible, you’re unlikely to get hassle form the police, unless they are nicking you for something anyway. Plates with ghosting, smaller than 9x7, and a non standard font ARE illegal though, and sold for ‘show use only’.
