Yeah that is annoying. Have done that before - called my phone when I realised it and a guy answered saying he’d seen it fall out of my pocket in Tooting.
Met up with him and had to insist on at least giving him a drink; what a hero.
At least it was ancient but for the first time in years I dont have a contract so no insurance. Dont want to come off O2 simplicity as got a brilliant deal so am going to have to buy a new phone outright now…anyone know where’s best to buy a new phone apart from usual high street shops who overprice everything?
I did back up my numbers about 6months ago but have met loads of cool new people since then (and others who turned out to be weirdos whose names were saved as “name DONT ANSWER”!!!)
Could go back looking for it but have no idea which roads I took back from where we had coffee and would end up having an accident trying to look for it.
Will be using inside pockets from now on!
That happened to a mate of mine I was following down the A2, his phone flew out of his pocket… I had a smile on my face when I found out though as I thought the bang I heard might have been something going wrong with my bike :hehe:
Had a fantastic little PDA phone over a year back which had 4 gigs of music and TomTom software.
Was heading along the A13 doing about 80 with the PDA in my Oxford throwover jacket pocket…Those crappy ones that velcro shut, not zip, and the velcro is only in the centre of the pocket so there are holes at either ends even when closed up.
Anyway, I remember seeing big bits of plastic debris flying off the rear of a car and still not thinking anything untoward had happened.
“Hmm, I’ve not heard any TomTom instructions for a while”…Pull on the headphone lead…Hmm…Pull some more…Bollarks.
That’s a bummer Anita, sorry to hear that! :pinch:
So Ryan’s (Photographichero) thread about his phone skittling down the road on Sunday in Norfolk wasn’t a reminder to be extra OCD when popping your phone in your pocket then?!?
There’s lots of places to get a phone online, although these are usually complete packages (phone and contract), do you just need a replacement handset?
I’m sure some kind soul on LB must have a spare knocking about they could let you have, gratis or cheap? (I had one but a friend of mine borrowed it when her phone died and I never got it back…)
I have an ancient sony ericsson so wont be without a phone - thanks Tim. Only problem is it takes 30 seconds to respond to a button being pressed.
I want to get one off contract 'cos dont think I can get a deal as good as this - 1200 mins any network, 1000 texts and unlimited web browsing for £30. I had to change to O2 when I moved here as its the only network that works in my flat.
I cant believe it wont let me write PI*S! I typed it in full and it corrected it for me. And there was me thinking all you guys were so polite by not swearing - had no idea LB “corrected” your spelling!
Bad luck! I have lost 2 mobiles over the last few months Doh!!!
1 from my leather jacket not zipped and the other when my rucksack open like at a sail at ***mph
Its O2 Simplicity. Its a sim only deal and you pay monthly for it but have no commitment. When I signed up online, I got the web browsing for free but it never really worked properly because I was using an unlocked orange phone.
