When riding my bike, I can either rest one foot on the floor with one on a pedal or if both feet are down, I am literally on my flat toes but rest of my feet in the air.
This is ok unless I make a mess of a stop - other day I fcked up a u turn and landed on my placed foot and v nearly dropped the bike.
Aside from my rubbish riding, what about the size of bike? Would you expect to be able to place both feet down at the same time at a stop?
Dont know how tall you are but im 5’6 and ride a supermoto. I have to sit to the side of the saddle just to get one foot on the floor. Im used to it though as its the only style of bike ive road, i started of on scramblers. Never dropped my road bike because of my hight problem, dropped the crosser a few times when i first started out though which was about 11 years ago
I’m 5’3 and have an ER6F, which has a lowered seat and a lowering kit on it. I would never expect to be able to put both feet flat on the floor, and the suspension to never move when you sit on it.
Once the bike is moving, size is not a problem, you just need the skill - still working on that one.
Nope, sorry. Us shorties have to learn to watch for road camber as well, as that can catch you out. But look ahead and plan. Taller riders are generally only going to put on foot down anyway, but I guess it is comforting to know you could save a ‘tilt’ with two!
