Here’s an odd one, I recently bought a Shoei XR1100 from Helmet City.

Great Helmet, great fi, good ventilation, pinlock is a revelation.

Just one thing, I was taking a short cut through sainsbury’s the other day and the security alarm went off as I walked through both doors. I didn’t have a bag and the only thing I was carrying was the helmet. I went into Boots and no alarm so I forgot about it.

Yesterday I went to Decathlon and as I left, the security alarm went off. I went back in and as a test I waved the helmet between the sensor things - the alarm went off again.

My helmet sets off shop security alarms - anybody else had this?

No, bever happened to me. You should probably search the helmet for a magnetic thingy that sets the alarms off.

My helmet makes my wife scream - anybody else had that??? :stuck_out_tongue:

I did have a look and couldn’t see any tags still on it.

Think I’ll take the lining out tonight and have a proper check.

it happened to me after i bought the Arai. the dye tag was removed but inside the lining there was a narrow rectangular sticker with a barcode on it that had been forgotten about and on a couple of occasions i set off the alarms at supermarkets :blush: until i went to a HG store and set off their alarm so the manager examined the lid and found the aforementioned sticker and removed it :smiley:

So the finding is thus in this scenario… if you want to nick something, go to Boots, their alarms are shite! :smiley:
