First point:
The work it needs is the clutch shaft sorted, which correct, I didn’t know about when I listed. It needs no other work done to it. Clutch lever was adjusted by myself, mechanic present.
The buyer (who I have advised to sign up to this forum) was notified of the clutch shaft issue by the (fully qualified) mechanic, who checked out the bike three days ago. Would you like the phone number of the buyer and the mechanic, sherlock?
Second point:
I have the full service history. What is your point here?
I’ve made a thread complaining about service, he’s bringing up two completely invalid points about the condition of a bike that I no longer own, which has had an extremely thorough check up by a mechanic, and is now in the hands of a happy owner.
Rusty does have a point. From your description of the bike, a buyer would have no idea that you’d had so many problems with it that it had needed recovery twice during the first year. It doesn’t surprise me, caveat emptor and all that, but it’s a fact that you made it seem like you were selling the perfect bike, and now it’s sold you’re explaining that it was far from perfect. I’m pretty sure Rusty’s comment has nothing to do with anyone “being mates with the boss” though. It’s a completely separate point, and a valid one.
I actually find it quite disappointing that you’ve had a bad experience with the KTM Centre, and would personally be interested in hearing their side of it too (which if your side is anything to go by should be a sincere apology!). However commercial entities rarely reply to forum posts like this, so I guess it’s probably not too likely we will.
The bottom line is the condition I sold it in was very good, except for the clutch shaft issue which I did not know about at the time of posting. So once again I disagree with you and would say that he has no point. Now, I am more than happy to provide a scan of the mechanic’s report.
There’s no unwritten rule that states you have to list previous issues with bikes if they are no longer going to have an impact/affect the bike. If this is a legal, or even moral requirement, please explain why. I would completely understand if the issues could provide further hindrance to the bike, but they cannot. The only way they could, is if KTM failed to patch up the leak. Knowing them, that’s quite possible actually…
Personally I do not care about what they’d have to say. I was going to get an SMC 690 at some point, but they’ve made my mind up about where I’ll be getting it from. If they contacted me, I would not speak to them.
May I remind you that the point of this thread was to complain about the service I received, not for it to be derailed because Jason’s barmy army don’t like truth.
which is by all appearances, a very valid point. I don’t think it is insinuated at all, you managed that all by yourself with your contradictory posts.
and no, calling someone a massive cock is far more immature than a couple of pics.
Funny if you read the thread all of the replies actually blame me for what has happened. I think that says it all…will no longer be posting in this thread.
no one is blaming you for the clearly dreadful treatment you claim to have had from the KTM center. i have sympathy, hugely frustrating to say the least.
i do think that you not posting on this thread anymore is very wise.
That might be your bottom line. I call it a bit of an ass thing to do, but that’s me. Personally if I’d bought a bike that was described as you described yours and then found out that it had been a bit of a lemon, I’d be pretty upset. But hey, you’ve offloaded it so it’s all ok right?
And that’s your prerogative. I’m not surprised, if I’d had what I considered bad service from somewhere, I’d not want to do business with them again.
Huh? Welcome to the internet. My freedom of speech is equal to yours. Complain all you like, remind me all you like, but if you post something on a discussion forum then expect answers. “Jason’s Barmy Army” goes a little far though – I don’t think anyone on this thread has offered anything but sympathy regarding your experience of the KTM Centre.
To be honest, the thread is about the service he received. As for Rustys comment, it does look to me like it was posted to cause embarrassment for crookzy :ermm:
As for the problems with the bike and potential problems for the new owner, s/he bought KTM they knew what they were getting!:hehe:
