Hi All
Can you help,
Do you think that £570 is expensive for a 24k service on a Yammy '09 R6?
It includes oils, shocks, valves etc.
Advice please

Sounds better than some I have heard .
Give Adz on this forum a call. I bet he will be cheaper than that and from what I’ve heard and seen brilliant work. If you need a stamp Essential Rubber are pretty cheap for a VAT registered garage. I think someone on here got a full service on a bandit for £180 all in.
I just had my 18k service on 05 r6 for just under 300 smackeroonies… it wasnt a major service. And thats at a dealer.
Is that shock oil? Ask them what’s their hourly rate? Then shop around.
Hard to say, oils valves shocks, I mean if they are renewing every bit of oil which includes forks. Flushing and renewing the liquid coolant, the brake line fluid, and suspension, are we talking re greasing the swinging arm and linkages??? Well you are looking at alot of man hours if you are, aren’t you? That is where the ball park costs are, 80 quid on bits, 350 on labour, and then you get the +20% VAT too on top of it all.
Don’t know how true it was, but I read somewhere a claimthat to do the valves on a modern sports bike you had to remove the engine, and to do that well it’s tank, fairing, and carb removal along with tuning it all again when it is back together.
Seriously, it might be worth it, but only if they actuallydo the all the work and renewals expected and not just visually look, change the engine oil and say job done.
