I’m trying to redo bits of my Firestorm loom and a bright spark at my local Car Spares shop suggested that self amalgumating tape was better and that he uses it on his boat.Anyone got experience of this stuff before i make a pig’s ear of it?:w00t:
Don’t put that stuff near a car or bike loom, horrible stuff, not so much a pigs ear but a cows stomach of a mess.
Use the proper looming tape from here http://www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk/consumables.htm Didn’t buy my last lot from here but can’t remember the name of that company.
Now I use heatshrink tubing for looms, you need to have access to an open end so maybe no good for repairing a damaged loom but makes a much nicer job. You can also get heatshrink tube with a light glue coating inside so it makes a water tight seal around connectors and ends, very nice job but time consuming.
\cheers Steve.
I think I’ve sussed it:cool:
It comes in two layers and I think i need to peel off the shiny vinyl layer to just leave the rubbery bit:w00t:
I’ve just wrapped a bit on a coil wire and looks pretty rubbery;)
