Can anyone recommend a good security exhaust bolt for exhaust pipes?
I can’t find any in shops. Looking for something which would make it less likely that a thief would go for my exhausts.

something like this maybe

Use torx heads ? Maybe less chance they are carrying a set of those ?
Where do you get these?
I was thinking something like a car hub wheel cap style lock for the exhaust pipes.
I’m frantically trying to find something before the bank holiday!
try here they have all sorts of fixings

Nuts…
do you know if there is somewhere to order off the internet?
I don’t wish to go there and park with the risk of my exhausts being nicked whilst I’m trying to work out which bolts I need
Take your exhaust off and carry it into the shop if you’re worried. Then you can spend as long as you like looking at all the lovely bolts and fixings…
Or you could use a standard bolt and cover it in green loctite which only frees up when heat is applied. Then file the corners off the bolt to round it off

Actually that’s a good point.
Do you think think hot welding the bolt onto the bracket would be a bad idea.
I can’t carry two exhaust pipes without dropping my helmet or gloves.
Lol them cans made of gold
if they want the can they usually take the bike with them.
They were just Akrapovic slip ons.
They couldn’t take the bike. I had 10 locks/chains on it.
“were” does that mean they have been nicked?
yes. stolen right side. they left the left side though!
Not sure why pin torx bolts are considered security fixings. My Halfords tool kit has bits that will work on those… in fact, the £5 cheapo set I bought from the corner store does too. Nothing secure about them.
That’s a little negative, pin torx are what they are …
You can’t re-invent them as a non-security fixing just because the driver bit is available. Whatever fixing is used a cheap freely available driver bit will be available. The point here is the average chancer out and about with a flat blade, pair of pliers and an adjustable will move on to easier pickings.
Use an allen head bolt & fill the business end with something to prevent getting an allen key into it - a ball bearing jammed in there or maybe a bit of solder?
Had these on my bicycle so can’t see why you couldnt get it to work on your cans
Pinhead componants

the bolt head may end up ‘tamper proof’ but then you just end up unding the nut… had a few customers bikes that i have worked on that have needed the exhausts removing and have never taken any longer to remove than a normal nut and bolt.
What size are you after?
