I’m after a set of second hand leathers and wondered if there was a decent shop around that sells em, pref in the London area but I don’t mind driving. I just want somewhere where I will have a bit of choice and be able to try stuff on.
hi does any one have old textiles or leathers that they don’t use it any more that they would like to sell it cheap? i am a student and can not afford anything first hand i am 180cm tall so the sizes should be around 40 upper and lover 32 i am a little scared of going down the road without no real protection when some **** pulls out and i go flaying. if any one have any spares could you please let me know. thank you
Some guys have mentioned eBay which I reckon is good, I use eBay a lot, but have not done for leathers. Obviously there’s no returns in a lot of scenarios, so if in doubt, ask the seller: “e.g. is this 40 a big 40?” as some might come up big or whatever.
Charity shops are worth checking out too.
I’ve seen Frank Thomas stuff in there (and Frank Thomas, whilst it’s not the best, is still a good functional brand), can’t remember what else, but dad found me a Dainese jacket in a charity shop in Chiswick for £75. Great jacket, wear it daily to work. No idea if £75 is a good price, but some bike gear I’ve seen in there is discounted enough.
Keep your eyes peeled in charity shops, they might not have your size immediately, but you can always keep your eyes peeled in there even after you’ve got yourself your first jacket or trousers or something for some extra bits!
I had to buy a jacket for my ex about a year and half ago and I went to the George White outlet centre in the upstairs of their Suzuki showroom in Slough. Not sure if there’s a closer outlet centre to, say, central. But we got a really functional Frank Thomas jacket for her for £60, which I thought was good. There were some cheapy Made in China jackets for about £40-50, but not really sure I’d trust them, the quality seemed a little bit too cheap.
I bought a pair of 1 piece blue alpina stars that are a bit too short for me. I’m 6foot tall and standing up straight is a bit too tight, but sitting on the bike is cool. They are 2nd hand and I only want £150 for em as thats what i paid.
