Is a 1999 R6 seating position slightly more roomy than a 2007 R6/ZX6R ? Is there much difference between the years ? Does handling vary very much ? I know more modern bikes will be better handling but is the difference huge or just a mild progressive improvement ?
Reason for asking is I’m looking for a track bike and I don’t want something too heavy or different from my existing 2007 ZX6R, I don’t need or want anything fast but similar handling to my current bike would be useful.

the '99 r6’s handle great. and make brilliant track bikes. They are still raced in the pre injection classes of deby phoenix too and set some very impressive lap times.
to compare it to a 2007 bike is very tough though as obviously the differences in tehnology are huge.
a '99 bike will be more than capable of anything you can throw at it and more and for 1500-2k for a fully track prepared one you can’t really go wrong. 
So when do you buy it?
