Is there any way you can search for something and display them with the most recent last post at the top of the page, they seem to be all over the place as they’re displayed by Rank?

What about advanced search with results sorted by “last post
date” in descending order ?

It’s small, but can that not be the default? It usually is on forums.
Also, is there a way to get the results as threads, not posts? I looked through advanced, but couldn’t see an option. 
If you click on ‘Last Post’ at the top of the column of search results it should sort it. You can switch from ascending to descending.
