Going to visit Chislehurst Caves on Saturday 1st November. We`ll try to think of a nice route! Entry to the caves £5, leave the Ace around 11am (could pick up east and south Londoners somewhere)Any takers?

I last visited the caves nearly 30 years ago. Would love to come along but it is too short notice to change plans already made for Saturday.

I would have done but I have too much to do on Saturday that I won’t be able to get out of.
Did you realise the title of this thread says the 1st OCTOBER?!? (have you discovered a way to go backwards in time Chris, well other than by riding your Triumph anyway?!?)

Just got back. The Chislehurst caves are well worth a visit - a huge labyrinth that housed up to 15,000 people from London every night during the blitz. Also a film set for Dr Who & some monsters, and an underground club used by Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Floyd (and George Melly).
We had a guided tour, well worth £5. Very nice cakes and hot choc in the café.
Downside - weather on the way home was atrocious, but at least we stayed dry inside & didn’t get cold. We’re ready for our Mystery Tour in the morning.
Good to see Kevsta and Ricky at the Ace - remember you two, careless talk costs lives!
Was looking forward to joining you, but was best i didn’t as later that afternoon i was in my local A&E with obdominal pains :w00t::w00t::w00t: i will join you guys soon!!
