Has any one got any experience of rst leather suits ?
I have seen one i quite like the look of and its in my price range, but i would like a second opinion or a review if possible?

BabyJ will be the best person to comment, I suspect. Just make a joke about his peanut head and I’m sure he’ll make an appearance forth-with. What about the new Frank Thomas suits? I like the look of those.

Ive seen these before and was very impressed with the quality, style and cut and from what i remember a very low price and in black. In fact id have bought them if it werent for the fact id got some Texports at the show.

Ex g/f has/had a set and the jacket has been changed twice so far as i know beacause the stitching came undone in various places.
By the way the suit was a 2 piece “propelle” i think
You gotta be kiddin me about FT? MCN had there new suit on test and it fell apart after 2 weeks. Wouldn’t wear their kit even if they gave it to me.
Hein Gericke leathers do well in tests [my own as well …as well as official] despite the price [£300 ish] they are comparable to Italian Branded £750 stuff, though not quite as flashy…and the world+dog reckons Frank Thomas leathers still suck a$$
Had the RST and didn’t like it. I didn’t think the finish was all that goo TBH. This was 3 years ago so they may be better now.
As for the comments in regards to the FT kit, I have sent mine down the road on a few occasions and I can’t fault it. It’s coming to the end of it’s life now but I’ve had it over two years and the trousers have been used pretty much every day. For the money I think it’s good, and they use FT at the Ron Haslem race school so it can’t be all that bad. . . . . . can it?
i use spada…good leater but crap zipps…i use ft boots and rst gloves…gotta say…i love these gloves…i also ride with an rst textile jkt and for those nice days…good ol joe rocket…i love that jkt!!!

just got myself some new hein gericke kit. It’s very comfy but I think I look like a power ranger!

The one piece suit will be up on ebay soon as i never wear it, (apart from the times that i wear it just because i never wear it :crazy The newer stuff is much better put together than the old stuff, the leather trousers dosn’t have any hip armour unlike my 1bit jobbie though… i must pop in to Hein gerike to pick some up, ta for the reminder!
I was checkin’ out the NASA web site the other day and it mentioned Frank Thomas on it. It’s really wierd but they recon you could see their returns pile from the moon…
Personally I’d go Hein Gericke if poss. Then perhaps RST - my brother has a new one and it looks pretty decent. FT ? They seem a little too mass produced for my liking, and all their gear that I’ve had seemed at best average, whereas ALL the HG stuff I’ve had or seen looks way better than it’s price suggests.
Perhaps you should go to a bike show, even a fairly small one and sniff out some bargains or save up another hundred or so. Then I’d vouch for WOLF gear although Doohan’s new suit didn’t take a major off as well as perhaps expected. But I’ve worn a two piece for 30,000 miles approx and it is still excellent. I haven’t surfed the road in it, but otherwise top draw. Cost me £500 at the BMF a few years back. And it’s British.
