oh yeah, and the map, pukka effort! tho i bet there old bill about there often enough, specially few bikes hooning around, may be wrong tho, would’nt have posted the location tho, not para just carefull:D
so you it helps to advertise where you go play does it?
…you think the police be happy with peopel grinding sliders…be suprised how fast you can get up to kding on big roundabouts corners, not that you would know;)
me too! i prefer plastic sliders! i have some new extra thick ones that should last, like tesco value style:D peopel think there training sliders:w00t: could lend them to garret;):w00t:
Don’t think it will make a difference TBH. Besides, we all know they are all too busy trying to catch chav ganstars
That’s right Russell, I haven’t reached the ultimate peak of biking experience that is the all elusive and oh so exclusive ‘Knee Down’. My life could not be more empty for not having had the thrill. God Damn! I think I’ll fill up my tank, jump on my bike and not stop until I’ve cracked it so I can wear the KD crown, just like you.
I have my own pair TVM, and when I have the opportunity to practice enough to build cornering confidence & skill, KD will come as a result.
White Mesa - that’s the one, going from left to right on the M4 on that picture of the map. Also mate, you will get your KD in time - no doubt. It’s just about maybe getting a few tips (there are two MCN KD videos on youtube) and feeling confident.
And knowing you have good tyres too.
I use Michelin 2CTs, and after doing six reasonably leant over laps on a roundabout they are pretty damn warm. Especially as temperatures are around 14 degrees most nights at around 1am now. The next two weeks are supposed to be good weather so take advantage of the late evenings!
As for advertising the location, I would hope any biker would not be foolish to do the route at stupid (legal) speeds at obvious times for being caught (not speeding). 1am and 2am are pretty police barren and besides which, how often would people be going all the way down there to grim Slough, the intro for “The Office”? However, if there is an article on Visordown next week showing 28 arrests of GSXR and Fireblade riders I shall eat my words, apologise profusely, and draw all future (excellent) maps showing as in the land of Narnia and not Slough.
And as sliders are being shown off here’s my toe slider. I like having to go into Hein Gericke and get new ones. It makes me feel more hardcore than Jenna Jameson being filmed having sex with the cameraman who is filming Ron Jeremy having sex with a fellow O.A.P whilst filming Tracy Lords having sex with that MP who died of sexual asphyxiation with an orange in his mouth.
That’s pretty hardcore.
i never said it was the peak of biking experience, thats your words fella, not mine;)
what i’m saying is how can you comment on KD when you cant do it?..
i dont wear it as a crown, i wear it as a skill, and a tool…ok i’m a lil proud i can do it…to ba fair, i aint bad at it:D
i know some people that never get there knee down, they dont even stick a knee out, but they damn fast, good luck to em thast there way, mine is diffrent.
I’m sure you will do it one day, BTW its easier on the track;)
Come on Ratster, let’s be honest - knee down is the ********! There’s nothing like a good arm and leg lock on one side, and then the other side having a constant scrape. Of course it is only a tool to give feedback on how far leant over you are, and of course the object of riding fast round a corner is to stay as upright as possible rather than actually get your knee over, but we all see the GP riders doing it, and we don’t buy sports bikes to ride them like those blokes who ride mopeds with the blankets over their legs! Or those stupid motorised tricycle things.
I really hate those.
Don’t let anyone convince you - KD is a great feeling! Toe down is even better!! Keep trying till you do it. You’ll feel like a GP god!!
toes not so much, toes mean pegs, i seen what happens when pegs dig in :pinch: tho on the right i often touch the toe slider down, on the left not so much.
on track friends were trying to tell me to drag my slider less when cornering cos it will slow me, odd thing is i felt faster KD, tho i adapted and dragged it less just skim lift, completly changed my body postion on track, not sure if i have on road tho, dont have the width of the track on road, have to be carefull…
i did have one very head swelling moment last sunday, on route home with the BCR, came into a lovely left, its nice and smooth surface not too tight, its blind but i know it well, came round it…sscrrrrrrrrrrrrr…lovely, as i did so few bieks came past other way…showboating:D then flicked right for the next corner, as its an s-bend, scrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:cool: good times, took me Kin ages to get it right on that route tho:D
Ahh… J7 - I do that every day on the way to work - it’s pretty good when you get it right, although I do prefer right-handers.
As for the kneedown stuff, pah! I’m oldskool (and just plain old) so can’t be doing with clambering all over the bike, but that means I’ll be leaning further than some young pretender with their knee on the deck at the same speed on a given corner. My toe sliders wear out fairly quickly, though…
Dunno about Jools, but as soon as I’ve got time - I have my kids every other weekend, so it’s fitting stuff in… and I’ve got to get my MOT done… and I’ve got grass to cut…
