Very sad new indeed. RIP and condolences to his family
RIP Robert.
Sympathy to him, his family and to his mechanic, who is probably feeling very unduly responsible right about now. A very difficult situation to be in.
Very sad news… he was a very talented racer… a sad loss RIP

Terrible news RIP - hope the Dunlop siblings continue to race on.
I was suprised to see him back on a 250 this year. But after his seizing and also Richard Britain’s doing the same i think it’s time they stopped 250GP bike racing on the roads and probably the 125’s to. It sounds extreme but mechanical failure is something a rider has no control over and the 2 strokes are not built to last more than one race meeting and those guys are riding the wheels off them on flat out roads for races longer than a motogp race.

Sad news from a great racing family.
R.I.P
very fitting tribute this morning by Michael Dunlop in the 250 race.
Almost brought a tear to my eye
:crying:
indeed, it got me choked up, his father would be very proud, and as said a fitting tribute from a son to his father.
funeral was yesterday, attended by approx 5000, including first and deputy first minister of northern ireland
Sad news indeed.
I thought it was a lovely touch that the legend Angel Nieto was wearing a Robert Dunlop Replica lid when he did that lap with Rossi.
Did anyone else notice that?
i didnt see that, but it goes to show how well known a racer he was, respect to nieto:)
Here’s Nieto on Rossi’s bike at Le mans last week
Here’s Robert Dunlop
As you say, that’s respect:)
