Road salt

I`m thinking on getting some salt to put on my drive if the weather gets icy or even snowy. Does anyone know where i can buy some.

You can usually buy bags of it from B&Q and places like that.

Failing that you can go out one night with a bucket and spade and acquire some from one of the roadside yellow boxes

We bought a sack of the stuff, about 15kg I guess, from B&Q for about £6 five years ago. We use it on the path we use to get off our property and part of the lane at the back. So far we have used maybe 25% of it. It makes a huge difference.

I swept a load up off my garage floor today that had run off the bike in the water then dried out leaving salt.

check in your kitchen every house has salt clever use that

Easyrider, think about it, how much does cooking salt compare to road salt a hell of a lot more expensive.

Travis Perkins £3.75 for 25kg bag but would recomend ocean salt was £4ish for 25Kg last year. You dont get all the grit walked in doors with it.

just wait till yer local council leaves some bags at side of the road for the workers to spread and borrow some.

Be aware it leaves your drive wet/moist after all has dried around.

SALT???You animal…you should be working for the feckin government…they love to rub salt into everthing.

Try some cat litter, works nearly as well and is much mor enviornmentally friendly!

…did you know that we are the only counrty in the EU that still uses salt on its roads in the winter…

What do other countries use then clogs? :hehe:
