Road rage

Witnessed this this morning near Regents Park/Gt Portland street…

I had a run in with a cabbie last night who almost wiped me out…so I did cheer when he lost his mirror…

Video of Cab/bike wars!

Does not show up as clearly being compressed for Google, but the cabbie almost wiped out three cyclists in the bus lane…

crazy adam that’s just nuts i did enjoy the happy mirror slap though

is that off your VFR cam mate?

So basically you have shown a bikers reg plate and him damaging a vehicle.

i bet he’s gonna be happy if a summons falls through his door.

Wotever the the arguement was about or who’s in the right show s wot i mentioned above. either edit the palte out or delete it from t’internet.

I did that to a transit once that did more or less the same to me… he excuse was he should not have to look in his mirrors so I thought well if you dont use them you don’t need them.

Sure was…fun in London everyday…

+1

So what happened next? It looked like the cabbie was trying to take the biker’s mirror…

That was better than ‘cops with cameras’

im no fan of cabs, they get in the way everywhere and generally clutter the place up

and im in no position to criticise anyone, weve all done stupid things… this commentary is purely in the interest of people me included not doing that very thing

1 the turn left queue (a4000?) in the bus lane and lane 1 is visible to bike vmy at the lights, particularly the stationary truck at its rear, as the cab turns onto the 501, its obviously going to move over into lane2 to avoid it, despite this vmy holds his ground effectively in the cabs blind spot. The cab should give way, bike is ledgitametly overtaking in his own lane, tho before its obvious the cab is continueing why not get forward of the cab ?

2 once forward of the truck the bus presents an identical obstacle, and the same thing happens again, if the bike had given way or overtaken decicively at the start. both vehicles would have had plenty of room.

i would say we all know cars ignore our “personal space” on the road just as we on occassion ignore theres. Why ride in a position into which its bleedin obvious a car wants to move?

3 after the bikes safely removed the mirror, the cab appears to target the bike, in a dangerous attempted undertake whilst straddling the bus lane holding this position long after passing the cyclists.

so if your going to altercate with drivers do it properly, then foxtrot oscar regardless of sp30

4 vfr cam needs to avoid runing int back of its objects

i know there are people here who are actually profesionally qualified to comment, id like to hear them.

that there vfr cam is flippin the nuts, more please more

and yes i do have better things to do, its just im sober

The biker went from being in the right to being in the wrong, we’ve all been there…

Like it or not the video serves as nothing more than evidence of criminal damage… maybe you should do him a favour and take it down – in the eyes of the law two wrongs do not make a right, it’s really that simple.

Hehe good video mate, although agree about the number plate blanking.

There is another one of your vids that is a BMW pulling out infront of you, want to know what you said to him after, it looks like you sped up to go 'ave a word…

what camera’s that then fella? actually to save typing it out i’ll make it simpler, was it expensive?!

Yeah mate that vid needs editing or pulling.
Saying that, it was enjoyable to watch ! :hehe:

I like the vid. Agree about blanking the reg plate.

What’s the bike cam set up ?

+1 … No need for the bikers plate. Got i hate those (undoubtedly) Fat biggoted cabbies - King of the road are we sir?!

PS - I do know several cabbies, they dont ALWAYS live up the reputation, well… not all of them , all the time…

On a lighter note, ive actually been thinking about doing EXACTLY what yo seems to have done with the bike mounted Cam… id be really interested to see what your set-up is, what you record too and any problems youve had with it…

Nice vid ile jump on the bandwagon that his reg needs to be blurred. I dont know about anyone else but if/when i take an assholes mirror off i dont stick around to find out how he felt about it, the cabbie could have had him off the bike in revenge…

Also i love how the ped riders can see the blatant road rage but still stay inches behind the action…

Hopefully edited (a bit crude) to cover details now…

I’ll start another thread with the details of the cam setup…

Yes…I did, but it never sounds great listening to it after calming down…

I basically told him he should use his mirrors, he said he did, so I asked him if that meant he saw me and intentionally moved anyway…he didn’t answer, so I asked him if he would like a big scratch down the side of his car and he said (in a fantastic eatonian accent) “All I can do is apologise”…which was cool, so I just nodded and rode off.

I don’t get wound-up if someone pulls a crazy move like that and acknowledges their mistake…only when they are oblivious to their actions.

Some good vids there mate - some real eye openers - the woman on the phone in the land rover was a peach…

Interested in the camera set up so hurry up with the other thread !!!

After seein tis vid has made me relize how bored I’am stuck in this fecking office… think I need to get back out on the road
