Gutted. I really supported him this year and thought he was such a funny guy when he was on the stage at silverstone.
I hadnt planned to watch the racing this morning as we had stayed at a friends last night but we just happened to get up and put the tele on during the warm up lap.
I was still half asleep and it felt like a dream watching it on BBC.
I actually felt myself welling up instantly as when I saw the helmet and then him lying prone unconscious, I knew he wasn’t going to survive. Plus the footage cut to his girlfriend for about 2 seconds and she was crying hysterically staring at a monitor.
Defining “regained consciousness” is difficult. I didnt actually believe that when they said but it is possible.
Although it might seem harsh, it is probably better that he passed away as I really dont think he would have had a good outcome with such a significant crash and a head injury that caused him to be unconscious.
One of the tabloid websites showed a photo on him lying on the track with the hay bales on either side and 2 marshals waving…I was kind of surprised that there was time for bales before the trackside medic got to him
I hope to never be involved in anything like that.

bit stunned on this. got home from work looking for the race on sky and was screwing at having somehow mucked up the record only to search the net and find out that way.

I just hope the poor guy was not in to much discomfort and thoughts are with Rossi and Edwards as well as Family who must be going through the shittiest time ever.
