That`s what i call a hero.
R.I.P
Amen to that.
Extraordinary circumstances make extraordinary people do extraordinary things. God bless you Jimmy. I have a charmed life due to folk from your era.
(Hat doffed)
Respect to his family, relations and close friends and heart felt sympathy.
his generation gave our generation the freedom to do what we now take for granted, RIP a true hero in every sence of the word
yes fully agree with all the sentiments, thats why I get so angry when the idiots of this government blandly and without care for those who fought for our freedoms legislate away those very freedoms…role on anarchy and freedom from labour governments.
This fella was the kind of guy we should all aspire to.
RIP to a brave, brave man.
The passage of time diminishes and rounds the edges of memories. This chap was a man who would not surrender and kept fighting any way possible. He and many like him are a reminder of the potential of the indomitable human spirit.
May all who read about him understand the great sacrifices that so many people made in a time of great turmoil.
May he rest in peace.
I’ll add that some of the people involved in the Great Escape were also involve in perhaps one of the greatest raids during the Second World War:
Jeremy Clarkson made a documentary on this, and it is well worth watching.
Definitely a hero, RIP.
RIP, we owe them all a massive debt , i just hope we are not tested like his generation was ever again
