Riderscan - anyone use one?

Basically a 180 motorcycle rear view mirror.

Cant help but think this would be usefull in london, but also distracting.

Whose got one?

Thought about it, but not gone there, wan’t to see one on a bike first. there was a reveiw of it on here in the reveiws section on the home page for a while, might be worth a look at.

Woozy has one… Took his bike for a spin and it was a strange because I wasn’t used to it so I ignored it.

Premises 187 had one I think - he probably has it on one of his youtube videos

It’s a decent device that works. You just have to get used to it being there.
I dunno why but I personally found it more handy on motorways.

Also I think it works better the higher you mount it because I felt mine was a bit low, so I kept having to look down to see it.

We did a review of it. The fitting is the keybit.

Nice review by a good motovlogger here…

The review I did for Londonbikers is here -

My conclusion was that it might be useful to some. A week after the review was published it fell off as I was riding along as the pads supplied separated from the glue. Fortunately I caught it before it hit anything so I have it available to anyone who wants it.

I just use the 2" round wide angle mirrors couple of quid from ebay…stick them high on mirrors in a corner job done no more blind spots

I like the idea of it on the motorway, helmet always tries to rip my head off if I do shoulder checks.

can’t see it working well on a naked bike!

yeah seen a few vids of it on bikes with high screens and it looks good, but on a naked if you have to look down, then you might as well look round.

I’ve never been able to get on with them.

Having used an assortment of blind spot mirrors including mirror in mirror, mirror over mirror, mirror extensions and panoramic view interior mirrors, I found they all had the same problem, too much in view to scan and take in. Give me a conventional rear view mirror arrangement every time, whether on the bike, in the car or in one of the works vans. You can’t beat a shoulder check, besides actually looking to check your blind spot is a legal requirement, anything else could be seen as Driving Without Due Care and Attention.

Never used one on the bike though and I wonder if they’d not impede the view ahead. Also the mounting arrangement may be illegal in some areas, for example in California it’s illegal to suction mount a sat nav to the windshield. See what I did there and before anyone else jumps in I know ‘only in America’ and don’t mention to Mrs Art that I’ve used the C word.
